ETF Assets and Net Issuance
Washington, DC, March 30, 2026—The combined assets of the nation’s exchange-traded funds (ETFs) were $14.21 trillion in February, according to ICI. The Institute’s monthly statistical collection also includes the value of shares issued and redeemed by exchange-traded funds.
Statistics contained in the Institute’s monthly ETF report have been obtained from information provided to ICI by exchange-traded funds and commodity funds. Commodity funds are listed in the Domestic (Sector/Industry) category.

Highlights: Assets of all exchange-traded funds rose in February by $317.33 billion, or 2.3 percent, to $14.21 trillion. Over the past 12 months, ETF assets increased $3524.50 billion, or 33.0 percent. Assets in domestic equity ETFs increased $1,789.66 billion since February 2025, and global equity ETF assets rose $968.32 billion during this period. At the end of February 2026, assets of bond funds were $2392.83 billion and hybrid funds were $50.87 billion and commodity funds were $422.88 billion.
During February, the value of all ETF shares issued exceeded that of shares redeemed by $184.66 billion. In February 2025, the value of all ETF shares issued exceeded that of shares redeemed by $113.52 billion.
